Unable to transmute Crafting material

As per image below, Conduit is unable to transmute Rock to another Crafting component:

The crafting recipe creation tool allows any item to be a part of a recipe, but "Crafting Material" refers here to a specific category of item whose sole purpose is to be crafting recipe materials. There are seven such items: Steel, iron, brass, wood, leather, plastic and gunpowder. Other items can be put into recipes e.g. Silver in Tarnished Swords, but that does not automatically add them to the materials transmutation system. We'd have to radically alter our recipes if so.
