Cann't learn spells from SpellGems, even though I have Spellcraft

As the title says:

Shmulik became a Shepard. I couldn't cast spells (I never had a Shepard before) but it turns out they don't come with Spellcraft base (wow?).

I now wanted to learn Shadow Wrap. I have a gem with SW but the only option available is charge. The gem has 1 charge already so should be enough?

It looks like Shmulik already knows Shadow Wrap. I'm not sure how you learned the spell already - perhaps there was a bug with that? - but the character already knows the spell, and that's why they can charge the spellgem rather than learn from it.

LOL! Maybe I forgot I learned it, haha? That could be the case. Thank you!

EDIT: Yes, it seems that was the reason I bought spellcraft - -

You close your eyes for a moment and reach out with your mind to read the pattern of the spellgem in your hand. You trace the lines of the power woven through the gem over and over until you are able to completely comprehend the pattern for yourself. Just as you reach this moment of enlightenment and learn to cast Shadow Wrap unaided, the spellgem crumbles to dust in your hand. (2025-08-20 19:28:08).

So I guess this can be closed as a non-issue.
