Just bought HoZ and poked a neutral mortal, Swarm of Locust did not retaliate.

Actually it looks like Swarm also doesn't want to attack evil NPCs either.

Repth did a dumb. Pets will not normally target NPCs.

The word "normally" implies that they sometimes do target NPCs but I have not figured out yet what is the condition.
Perhaps retaliating to an NPC retaliating to my attack?
Gonna test it some day...
