"Food enchanted with Secret Ingredient can no longer be destroyed on death." viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3264

- Your Chunk of Salted Meat has been destroyed! It has been removed from your inventory. (2022-05-18 10:41:02).

It was made before that update, so maybe the old items didn't get converted?

Yes, this is why. The change in code was a change to food items when Secret Ingredient is first applied to them.
