Pacted soul vampire - not working on good character

I have a good MO character with pacted soul vampire. I'm trying to use it to gather some soul ice, for non-nefarious entirely benign purposes, and it's not working. Appears in the dropdown, but silently fails to actually get applied to the attack, including not costing any mp.

I was under the impression that pacts should circumvent the typical MO restrictions on these abilities.

A likely cause has been identified and a fix will be in the next patch.

This still isn't working for me, still attempting to use soul vampire as a good character. It does appear in the charge attack dropdown, but actually trying to use it fails silently, without costing MP.
