Mechanic - Ship Detection Methods

TRO come out. I just want to talk

Would suggest more ways to enable shipborne strongold detection. Some suggestions below:
  • Ship tracking via following a ship wake / oil slick similar to the tracking mechanic that allows someone to follow a ships trail
  • Land (building) / ship (even non-SH ships) radar ping that gives ship type, faction and location within a certain sized grid - maybe larger grid for land based systems. Could even have it as a faction upgrade that needs to be physically deployed like a mound to work. This could use the same system as the char/map locations from last breath. Could also tie this into classes like Ele / HCs having some form of water detection
  • Leylines acting like some sort of mystical trip rope. When a ship moves across it then its twang can be read by someone tapping it "The energy of ISS Nostromo was felt crossing the leyline at "XX, XX"
  • Reporting a ships rough location on their faction page - map quadrant / rough area / "neighbourhoods" if seas get them like "New Thetis Bay" etc
  • Shared automatic list of interactions/sightings experienced by stronghold (maybe even shared to allied factions) e.g - "PORs ship spotted IBs ship at XX, XX"
  • More islands/ships to allow scouting, movement and observations
  • Newspaper bullet-ins? "Verdant Bayou welcomes AYS tanker into port"
  • Bump water breathing potions to make scouting more viable. Although its okies now
  • Give more chars some sort of mark ability like Conduits

Being able to set your ship trajectory to 'pursuit' would be fun

Revisiting this. Its does feel like additional tools are needed

Landed factions seem to catch a lot more heat as raiders have no/limited tools to find other targets reliably and Ive seen a fair bit of alt knowledge bleed which isnt an issue when everyone is stationary but is when people are more mobile.

I've definitely noticed a difference in raid capabilities between factions with a wormhole conduit and factions without. It would be nice to have better scouting options for the small guys.

Agreed that having a Conduit vs not having a Conduit and being ship-borne vs being a landlubber is like night and day.

So treat it as a +1 as I don't have anything else interesting to suggest.
