The region known to its inhabitants as Tempest Straits was once the only deep-water passage between continents for thousands of miles in either direction, a prize possession fiercely fought over for centuries by dueling empires in a world with a blood-soaked history. As that world faced its final end, the Straits have been drawn into the Nexus by the will of the Elder Power Tlacolotl to become Valhalla, the battlefield to determine the shaping ethos of the next world.
Whether you are a new arrival or a veteran of previous Breaths, your journey begins anew. All characters start their path as Mortals in Tempest Straits, amid the docks, shanties and islands of a violent but strangely free league of pirates that preyed on the shipping that passed by. Factions old and new fight to survive, rebuild, and claim dominance in a war without end.
