Make Wormhole marks findable

Wormholes are nice and handy now that there are moving SH ships, so Conduit stocks have risen. But how about we lower those stocks a bit by making the Wormhole marks findable, small percentage chance on each search.

And allow characters who have found marks to wipe them clean.

And let them know if the marks are your own faction's marks.

Conduit would need to be notified if their mark gets wiped.

Go scrub the decks clean, Pirates will love that.

They shouldn't be erasable. Instead they should be able to be picked up and put down c.f. the pocket space devices. Picking up a mark and setting down a mark should cost 1 AP and 10 MP for non-Conduits, 1 AP and 5 MP for Conduits. Every game tick a mark held in inventory should sap 5 MP from the possessor. If a Conduit activates a wormhole to a mark held in inventory, that process sends the possessor to the Void (dead) and the wormhole opens outside the location as normal.

The same mechanic should also apply to VW stones and Lich phylacteries, with the costs adjusted accordingly.

I dislike everything about both suggestions. Wormholes already have a downside of giving your target just as much access to you as you have to them. Phylactery/VW Stone/Landmark shenanigans just sounds like a way for people to grief others.

Yae, no, this would make the Wormhole skill useless.

You'd never be sure if your Wormhole worked or not. And even if you were told if the marker was scrubbed/picked up, it'd simply mean you have to waste even more of your own AP (which Conduits already do as they're generally a support class) remarking the place.

No, thanks.

If you miss having a Conduit in your faction, like many of us do, I guess you need to recruit a Conduit.

I do like the idea of marks being moveable, but only by a sufficiently skilled conduit. it does not make sense for non-conduits to have access to their special insights on the arcane. But i think conduit to conduit portal shenanigans could be amusing.
