Tentacle attacks not reporting back properly

So erikune had an interesting encounter with two characters, after summoning some Horrid Tentacles with their new skill. Specifically, this is what the combat logs looked like.

- You allow the magic to flow from you into the ground. Suddenly, with a deep rumble, a Horrid Tentacle erupts from the earth. You spent 15 Magic Points. (2025-09-11 07:58:19).
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Aggressive. (2025-09-11 07:58:22).
- You summon dark forces and attempt to steal magic points from Piter de Vries. You meet with success and drain 10 magic points from him! (2025-09-11 07:58:26).
- You summon dark forces and attempt to steal magic points from Piter de Vries. You meet with success and drain 5 magic points from him! (2025-09-11 07:58:28).
- You allow the magic to flow from you into the ground. Suddenly, with a deep rumble, a Horrid Tentacle erupts from the earth. You spent 15 Magic Points. (2025-09-11 07:58:39).
- You have changed the stance of all of your pets to Aggressive. (2025-09-11 07:58:42).
- You say, "I'll let you all play together." (2025-09-11 07:58:49).
- Your pet An Orange Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Piter de Vries and missed. (2025-09-11 07:58:52).
- Your pet A Lemon Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 07:58:52).
- (2 times) You quaff the potion. As you do so, your body disappears from view. (2025-09-11 07:59:08).
- Your pet An Orange Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Piter de Vries and missed. (2025-09-11 07:59:21).
- Your pet A Lemon Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 07:59:21).
- (3 times) Your pet An Orange Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Piter de Vries and missed. (2025-09-11 07:59:51).
- Your pet A Lemon Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 07:59:51).
- You feel invigorated. You regain an extra Action Point. (2025-09-11 08:00:06).
- Your pet An Orange Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 08:00:41).
- Your pet A Lemon Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 08:00:41).
- (2 times) Your pet An Orange Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 08:01:32).
- Your pet A Lemon Tree, a Horrid Tentacle, attacked Plum and missed. (2025-09-11 08:01:32).

However, despite all the attacks "missing", both characters disappeared and my character was getting EXP from the whole exchange. It looks like the tentacles were actually hitting their targets, I was just told that all the attacks missed and there were no death messages.

There's also no corpses on the ground at this location either. I guess those were some very hungry trees.

I don't think I got any stats from that fight, either. I opened up the character page towards the end, then after Plum had disappeared, and didn't see any increase in damage dealt or kills. I'm not entirely sure if that's because Plum woke up and disappeared, or if it's related.

Also, the character erikune was standing on the same tile as the Tentacles/victims in this situation, if it matters.
